The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 国内非常少见而且值得一看的科幻悬疑电影，是以受到家庭重创后的女性为主题，不是我们想象的那种硬科幻，更能贴近大众生活，探讨的是多重平行空间下不同的我们，直抵的还是人性，永远忘不了最后一幕，不知道后续还会如何发展，映后主创访谈时导演说他有科幻悬疑三部曲，期待他的新作，另外音乐非常棒，从到到尾紧跟剧情又不喧宾夺主，可见做音乐的这个人很洞悉这个故事。
前面还行，后面好无聊，有点像那部重生之门，但是比那部弱爆了
好无聊一片子，感觉不到主角的成长，对生活的刻画很潦草，连说教也没说出几个金句。
小片片讲解，此片是恐怖游轮和彗星来了套路。而又有结合平行时空。对于国产影片来说，确实是非常不错了。虽然里面还是有些坑没有填，但是也讲了部分对人性的思考。人都是自私的。

这部居然是科幻片也是没想到，总体来说还可以。
因为是郑雷的抖音粉丝，所以知道了并且看了这部电影，对于中国科幻片来说果然土猛土猛的，小成本拍出了好莱坞般的悬疑烧脑的套路，值得点个大大的赞。好莱坞已经买下翻拍版权，更加牛掰。
大本表演牛了。片子在很多时候都是一笔带过，不够深入。

大本的fun uncle居然演出难得魅力熟男dilf感，乔治克鲁尼执导的这部基本就是怀旧滤镜美国白男版《好爸爸坏爸爸》卡司都是熟人，马天尼演渣爹，《回到未来》博士演外公，主角泰谢里丹无功无过，童年版很灵气。
一个缺爹男的故事，孩子没有爹，也需要找一个舅舅来代替，陪伴他的成长，作为学习的对象，这是为什么呢？其实道理很简单，和妈在一起学习到的是产后抑郁，无休止的家务劳动，不被承认的存在价值，而和舅舅一起就能学到，女人把这些事都干完以后他们能自在的打球运动喝酒，听歌。

导演蝙蝠侠，主演蝙蝠侠。大本导的作品都挺有水平的，克鲁尼导演的片就一直是那么无聊得平平无奇。。。
虽然没有《彗星》那样烧脑，但还算数有始有终，剧本还可以复杂一些，多几个知道时空错乱的人
从故事、演技、配乐等方面来看都是很一般的电影。小成本制作不易打个三星。
玩了一把平行空间架构，感觉故事进展的还可以更精彩一点的。

比起恐怖游轮，更像彗星来的那一夜，模仿痕迹重，题材不是很有新意，结局有点乏力，但是中国低成本科幻片，还是多奖励一星
本来是像苍井优的奈緒这部里有点像三浦透子。
